Urgency (word prompt given on April 30, 2021) 

Rainwater is pooling on the floor in our 'fruit cellar' that is absolutely just a storage area with things we should donate or pitch. I'm feeling the urgency to quickly address this situation and organize things.

  Tedious (word prompt given on October 1, 2021): Jill gave me tedious as my word for the week. This week it was remarkably easy to think of tedious things! The things that stood out to me the most were the unpleasant things like, insurance, taxes, figuring out technology, and bills. Also, I have ADHD so that makes it exponentially harder at times. When I think of tedious, I think of unpleasant forms and me switching between my regular glasses and reading glasses. Truth (word prompt given on August 27, 2021): I think truth has been my most challenging word that Jill has provided me. How do you photograph truth? I thought about nature, but we hybridize and clone plants. I really racked my brain for how to photograph truth and failed because we are living in a very challenging and stressful period of time where the truth is elusive. I guess I may have stretched the truth by rendering it with chalk and photographing the word itself!  —Jennifer

Our Ending (story by Jill prompted by Jennifer's photo)

Jennifer gave me this photo as my prompt on November 29, 2021. It’s Niagara Falls with Canada on the right and the United States on the left. They’re physically so close but different. Since the photo has a somber feel to me, it made me think of the last piece I wrote for the blog ( Here on This Bench ) and how that relationship ended. And this is what I wrote. Our Ending      I’m not proud of how I reacted when I ran into Dylan two months after we had stopped dating. In my defense, he had broken my heart when he put our relationship on hold so that he could work on himself . But the idea—at least the one he had presented to me—was that he wasn’t in a place to date anyone and that when he was, we would give things a go again.       My heart had been broken in that moment.
