Too Twisted to Write It (Jill's twisted thoughts prompted by Jennifer's photo)

Okay, so this picture 😂 ... Jenn gave me this picture as my writing prompt on May 28, 2021. It's such a lovely image, BUT every time I thought on it, my mind went either very twisted or very dark. On June 3rd, I messaged her, "I keep trying to figure out what that duck pic inspires. I can only think of creepy things. haha. I must be too twisted."

Jenn replied, "LOL. Food? Scared of what you might be thinking..."

I sent back, "No. The way they are there tucked into her body is sorta creepy to me. So I get all these gross images of animals multiplying out of her skin. And I also think of how she's trying to protect them, but then when they go out into the real world on their own, they're gonna die."

Jenn, "😳😳😳 Dude ... 😂"

Me, "Right?! Every time I think on it, something really twisted or morbid comes to mind, and I'm like 'What is wrong with you?! 😂"

A few messages later, she sent, "I gotta be careful what I send you. You'll kill it. 😂"

So, maybe I'll try again with this one when I'm having a less twisted week, but for now, we're tabling it. 😂

  Tedious (word prompt given on October 1, 2021): Jill gave me tedious as my word for the week. This week it was remarkably easy to think of tedious things! The things that stood out to me the most were the unpleasant things like, insurance, taxes, figuring out technology, and bills. Also, I have ADHD so that makes it exponentially harder at times. When I think of tedious, I think of unpleasant forms and me switching between my regular glasses and reading glasses. Bifocals give me a headache so switching between the two constantly is exceedingly tedious! —Jennifer

  Uncanny (Word prompt given on November 26, 2021): We spent the previous weekend in a hotel farther North. I had wanted to go somewhere warm for vacation, but due to everyone’s time constraints we went towards the snow! My chihuahua Tequila (who I always torture with frequent photo shoots) came along. She has an uncanny talent of making herself at home anywhere. She appreciated the plush comforters at our hotel. We got a separate warm blanket for a pull-out drawer just for her for when we left the room. Tequila loathes the cold and the snow, so she happily enjoyed her creature comforts of the toasty room!
